A lone coder, a lot of distraction, learning xna, oop and c#.. Ouch!

Suey! (long)

Programming continues on both Toadder and Suey! Toadder is nearly done, although I may leave some minor things out (such as female frog, etc).. Im bored with it honestly. Suey is amazingly almost gameplay complete. Stuff like the bonus scores between levels, death scenes, animations etc aren't done, but the gameplay is all there. You can run around, grab the food, lose lives by hitting the bombs, score points, complete a level and move to the next stage. So gameplay-wise, its already there. I played up to level 10 last night (right now it stops at 10).

Barnyard something...

Just to test out some of the reuseability of my code, I jumped into one project in front of the kids game, still no name, but codename Barnyard Frenzy. Most of the code is already done, being pulled directly from toadder, so.. just a test..

Thumb:

Kind of a test and remake of the old 2600 game Taz. But it seemed like a good and easy test, so..

XNA Game Installer Available!

Well looks like someone has been busy and has created an XNA game installer written in c++ using Wix. Looks like a nice solution that will create an msi file that checks for .net, dx and xna, silently installs them as needed, installs the game, adds the entry to add/remove programs, etc. If your looking for an installer, head over and check it out @ http://www.nuclex.org/news/2007/11/07/xna-game-installer-part-2 .

Coming along quickly!

Well, had to work most of the last couple weeks, but I have made some progress. The new death scenes are in, they're fun little cutscenes, but nothing long enough to require being able to skip them. Need to add another sound effect for the death by squishing still. Got most of the new art in, modified the logs, new turtles, new vehicles. Got the cricket bonus in and popping up on pads near you. The sound is unnaturally loud when you land on him though, not sure whats up with that yet.

Next project announced... {drumroll}

Well, I think I have my next project lined up, and its nothing most adults would ever play! Imagine that!

Thinking about the next project.. Blokus? Pacman? Kids Game? My other WIP?

Been tossing around ideas trying to figure out what I want to work on after I finish up this frogger clone. Frogger's taught me quite a bit about c#, oop and xna, so its on to other things once its done. Im thinking about a Blokus clone, and threw up a mockup shot of it. Im just not sure if I could come up with an AI for it, much less a decent one. =)

Public Void ToDo()

Alright, been working on the graphics and trying to figure out how I want to do them, next up is implementation to see if they work or not.

Next on the list (edited):
Add in scrolling background class to handle animated water.
Edited: Change enemy movement from flat rate to time based, should help eliminate minor stutters..
Add in larger variety of vehicles on the roads
