A lone coder, a lot of distraction, learning xna, oop and c#.. Ouch!

Woot! Its getting there! Bosses are about 1/2 done..

Well, its coming along nicely.. I've had a lot of delays lately.. The better half had to have her 5th surgery in 4 years for her back on wednesday. This last one in may left a open wound in her stomach that wouldn't heal, so we've been dealing with that for 2 months, this surgery should have fixed that.. so that gives me some time to get back to coding!

Translated Polygon Collision detection .. ugh!

Ok.. Im done.. not with Cannon, but with messing with something I don't think I need to mess with to be honest.

So, one of the bosses I had planned is a rotating boss.. To make it worse, where only certain parts of the boss are collidable, a regular rectangle bounding box wouldn't work.. So with the help of a lot of good people on the XNA CC forums, I came to the bright conclusion, per pixel collision is not going to work. The bosses are too big and its way too slow. A rectangle was out since it was rotating and didnt fit what I wanted.. So a polygon! Sure!

Missed it...

Well, I know im not going to make my self imposed deadline of July 7th.. but I will still make it out in July... I figure I need a week, maybe a little more to get Cannon #12 ship shape.. This last 4 days that I was supposed to be able to get some work done, well people had other ideas including keeping me at a hospital waiting till 5am.. so it just wasnt in the cards for me to get much done this weekend I guess. 

Cannon #12 Video Preview

 Not a great quality.. Whenever I run fraps to record, I get jerky, really bad framerates.. But.. this is a preview of the menu system which is now completed, the high scores, the gameplay, pause menu, pretty much the almost done game. Not much left to do now!!! I might actually make my July 7 deadline! heh

POLL: Next project after Cannon #12... What do you think?

 What do you think? Im just thinking ahead here to the time when Cannon #12 is released to playtest.. Kollectiv is already done.. for the pc... but it needs some more polish I think. Suu-ey! is almost done.. all the game play is there, it just needs tweaks.. 

Both projects would need some reworking for the Xbox and it would probably amount to about the same amount of work for either.. If you want, voice your opinion on which you think would be better on the poll on the main page.. 

Amazing the little bugs, the big troubles to squash em, then the simple solutions you realize later...

 Doh... Its amazing.. All the little bugs that creap up into a program.. and we go to such lengths to squash them sometimes, only to come back later and go .. oh crap.. if I had just done that... Thats exactly what tonight was all about..

9 Days Left!

Only 9 days left until DBP opens for submissions.. so that makes me wonder if I can get Cannon #12 done in time in order to get it submitted day 1.. heh I'd like to get it finished and submitted as soon as possible so I can move on to finishing up Suuu-ey! and hopefully get it submitted before the deadline.. Got a 4 day weekend coming up, so we shall see!
