A lone coder, a lot of distraction, learning xna, oop and c#.. Ouch!

Broke down and built ToDo list system..

Well I was bored at work, so I broke down and built my ToDo list system for each project. Of course, only Cannon 12 has a list, but at least its in place, so instead of posting my lists... which are for my convenience... I can now just add the items, start an item, complete it, etc all through the website interface. Much easier to deal with, plus it doesnt generate extra page read counts.

Move complete...

Well, signed up and moved to 1and1.com.. cancelled 24 hours later. Nothing more annoying than being told what directories to put my stuff in. I dont want to log into an ftp for 4-6 sites and have to remember this one is sitting in 27/d/23454089 ... total crap.. Either way, this should eliminate the downtime the other host was experiencing.

Not going to deal with it anymore. Changing Hosts

Im not going to put up with the downtime. Its complete BS. Down 10 mins here, 5 there. "But, oh its just because of the server moves. Just try again later".. sorry, try again later is a bullshit excuse for "we dont have a clue what we're doing and don't care too either." .. thanks for playing.. I gave them chance after chance, and the "he's working as hard as he can" doesnt cut it anymore. Soooo...

I have already paid up for the next 6 months hosting elsewhere.. and will be moving the domains to the new server as soon as I upload the files and make the dns changes. aka tonight.. tomorrow at the latest.. Nothing to worry about, just gotta wait on the DNS to switch over. I should be able to have the sites completely up and working on the new host before it changes so it *SHOULD* be a flawless thing..

Site outage due to server hardware failure..

Just when you start to feel comfortable hosting your stuff elsewhere besides your OWN server, they move everything from one server to another.. its up for a few days and BOOM! Hardware failure. I got most of the data from the last 5-6 days back.. but still.. least its back up now!

I think thats it for this one.. Considering this game was 'done' when I went back to it and started working on it, its evolved tremendously since then. Once this is all done, it will be entered into the Dream Build Play 2009 and then put up on community games. I'm crossing my fingers!

New logo and game update... added a Purchase splash page...

Well, got an email from someone I met riding the bus. She is almost done with the new SquigglyFrog logo. One thing about artists. Especially those that offer to work for free. I find the follow through very very low. I've had 4 or 5 artists wo offered to do this for free (I didnt ask for free either) that have 'been working on it' now for 3 - 6 months? Its one image. Not a whole tileset or 3d modeling. Its just a 2d picture. Even when offering to pay.. ugh.. Ah well. Jöel has taken one artists early sketch and is working on finishing it up.
